Intervention description

Abacus is a maths service for primary schools disseminated by Pearson. It contains an interactive teaching resources CD, planning tools, access to online maths games, plus textbooks and pupil workbooks. Schools who sign up to the service can pay on an annual basis, and benefit from a 'curriculum guarantee' which means that the service will be adapted to fit any curriculum changes.

Professional development/training

CPD training is available, in either half-day or full-day courses.

Evidence Summary

The Best Evidence Encyclopaedia (2009) judged that there were no studies into the effectiveness of Ginn Abacus which met its criteria for inclusion.
