Intervention description

Sumo4Schools is designed to empower children and teachers. It helps pupils to develop skills for life. Skills like dealing with change, building better relationships, developing a resilient attitude to life, maintaining morale and improving motivation.

The intervention is delivered through ready made plans for memorable and meaningful lessons.

The intervention is available at primary and secondary level. The schools pack contains an overview of SUMO and explains where it fits into the wider school curriculum. The pack includes material for interactive lessons built around the SUMO principles. There's also supporting material including DVD/Powerpoint and CD Rom resources.

The provider uses the acronym CRAMS to explain how SUMO delivers skills for life:

C - How to accept and manage Change in our lives and how to build and maintain Confidence to deal with the challenges in life.

R - Building better and lasting Relationships with our families and friends.

A - Developing a resilient Attitude to life and learning to deal with set-backs.

M - Improve and maintain Motivation for ourselves and those around us.

S - Learning to cope with Stress and turning stressful situations into positive ones.
