Intervention description

The Diana Award Anti-Bullying Campaign, launched in 2011, aims to empower pupils and staff through a holistic and peer-led approach. The intervention aims to engage pupils and staff to change the attitudes, behaviours, and culture of bullying by building skills and confidence to address different situations, both online and offline.

The intervention is peer-led and has a whole school focus. Two types of training are available, mass and bespoke.

Bespoke training is available within schools for up to 30 pupils. The pupils are trained to become Anti-Bullying Ambassadors, they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to tackle bullying/raise awareness of the topic of bullying within their school and local community. Bespoke packages can include assemblies, workshops and talks with parents. Each pupil will receive a workbook and a guide for their parents/guardians.

Anti-bullying training days are also available, these events are run with other schools in a region. By the end of the day pupils will make an action plan of how to approach reducing bullying in their schools and will become Anti-Bullying Ambassadors.
