MyTutor
Intervention description
MyTutor is an online one-to-one tutoring intervention. Pupils and tutors see each other via live video so sessions can take place at anytime. Tutoring is available across most subjects from KS3 to University level.
MyTutor uses University students as tutors. Each tutor has an online profile listing their experience, pupils and parents can then arrange a 15 minute video chat to ask questions before booking any tutoring sessions.
Pupils and tutors share an online lesson space which features video calls, voice chat and a shared whiteboard. Pupils and tutors can upload essays or past papers, and work through examples together on the online lesson space. Free study resources are available to support pupils with their homework. Lessons are recorded, so pupils can watch them later for revision.
Pricing is graded dependent on the experience of the tutors.
A Schools Programme is available, pupils are matched with tutors and have one-to-one online lessons. The online lessons are generally scheduled into pupils’ timetables, so are at the same time and day each week. Teachers receive pupil progress reports.
